Steam Packet

When I tell people that I used to go and see Rod Stewart for a shilling often I am not believed.
But its true Rod (the Mod) was a big soul music fan and was part of several groups that appeared at the Twisted Wheel in Brazrenose Street Manchester in 1964 and 65'.

The Steam Packet also included Beryl Marsden and notably Long John Baldry

Now and again they teamed up with The Brian Auger Trinity.

Before their performances you could find them all in the pub round the corner; The Rising Sun and The Nags Head.
